This section contains a selection of tall trees, that is, trees over 1.8m (6 foot) tall.

All of our trees have been grown at our nursery, from seed, in AirPots. AirPots are the ideal container to grow trees in as they promote a healthy root structure which is essential for the long term health of the tree.

These trees are in a separate section as they are too tall to send easily and economically by courier. Therefore trees purchased from this section need to be collected from us or separate delivery arrangements made. If you want to buy from this section and cannot collect then please contact us as we will endeavour to quote you a specific delivery price.

Known as a 'Wedding Cake Tree' as the branches grow in tiers. This is a small deciduous tree 1.5m tall with a 1.5m spread. Star shaped white flowers cover the tree from May onwards and in the autumn the green leaves turn purple.

This is a good all rounder spieces of Eucalyptus as it's shade tolerant, damp tolerant, will grow in tubs or containers and can also be used for hedging or coppiced. It has interesting foliage which starts glaucous and eventually the upper surface of the leaves turm a glossy dark green colour. The branchlets are glaucous giving way to smooth grey, yellow or grey-brown bark on the branches.

Tall to potentially, a very tall tree with smooth cream, yellow or grey bark and glaucous branchlets. The juvenile leaves are pendulous blue-green developing long thin glossy green to blue-green adult leaves. The old leaves turn a striking orange / pink / red making this a good ornamental species.

A medium size tree with smooth powdery white bark shedding ribbons of bark to reveal yellow, grey or orange patches. Although the juvenile leaves are generally elliptical and glaocous, the adult leaves are lance shaped, green to blue-green.

A versatile variety of Eucalyptus that's hardy, coppices well, makes a good specimen tree, good for biomass, can be used in flower arrangements and has a pleasant aroma. If left to grow it can attain 50m either as a single stem or multi stemmed tree. Young leaves are glaucous turning a green green - grey in adult life. One reason for it's ornamental use is the bark which sheds in ribbons revealing various colours including green, yellow, pink, white, orange, brown and grey. Young branches are glaucous. Can also be grown indoors. Tends to be slow growing at first but rest assured, this species grows fast.

A versatile variety of Eucalyptus that's hardy, coppices well, makes a good specimen tree, good for biomass, is tolerant of poorly drained soils and can be grown indoors. Outdoors it can grow to 25m with smooth flaking bark mottled white, yellow, pink, brown, green or grey. The branchlets are often noticeably glaucous. Juvenile leaves are grey-green or glaucous especialy on the crown whereas the adult leaves are non glossy grey-green to blue-green.

A form of Cider Gum making an attractive ornamental tree, the juvenile foliage of which is blue-green and can be used for fresh or dried flower arranging. A good hardy variety also for hedging, wind breaks, screening which will tolerate poor drainage. The bark is light grey peeling to reveal brown patches. This must be one of our favourite varieties of Eucalyptus

An attractive tree with small shiny dark green egg shaped juvenile leaves. It gets it name from the yellow streaks that show when the bark peels. Similar to E.subcrenulata it grows in most soils even where there's little moisture. A good ornamental tree that provides shade.

To offer the most cold hardy strain of this species, the seeds we use have been harvested from trees on the absolute tree limit in the Dargo region of South Eastern Australia.

This subspecies of pauciflora is notable in so far as it's reported to be one of the most cold hardy of all.

Unusual because the elliptical juvenile leaves are joined around the stem and when they die, they detach from the stem and can spin round it in a breeze - hence the name 'spinning gum'. This is also a cold hardy and exposure tolerant variety and can be cut back or coppiced to produce new juvenile growth. The smooth bark is white, green to pale copper, sheeding in ribbons. The juvenile growth can be used in fresh and dried flower arrangements.

Fantastic variety - if you're finding it hard to choose this must be one to consider. The leaves are small, blue-green, fragrant and the foliage is ideal for flower arrangements. The tree is small looks unusual, is relatively slow growing and can be grown indoors. It is the most prolific flowering variety of any we have listed and when it does, the foliage resembles a kebab with the flowers in between the round leaves.

Fully matured, this is a tree with immense prescence, 38 metres tall, broad with heavy limbs. It's a fast growing deciduous tree with triangular leaves, flowering in April. An ideal tree to quickly form a windbreak or screen.

It can be grown successfully in clay but prefers moist deep loam soils. The roots of poplar trees are very vigorous and must be planted well away from drains and building foundations.

Bird Cherry is a deciduous tree to 14 metres tall so called because the fruits can only be eaten by birds. It develops a conical asymmetrical crown with hanging branches producing a stunning display of white flowers in May.

Bird Cherry will tolerate most soils.

One of the faster growing oaks which in time will grow straight to 35m forming a narrow round topped head. The leaves are huge, about the same size as a hand and in autumn they turn a glourious rich red. They are tolerant of many soils and will reach about 5 metres in height in 10 years.

These trees are grown in 20 Litre AirPots and are too large to be delivered in cardboard boxes. These can either be collected or if you want them delivered, we would be please to quote a price based on quantity and delivery address. Please contact us if you want a delivery quotation.

A fast growing medium to large upright tree in which the branches and twigs grow in a spiral, twisting way just like a corkscrew. The branches are often dried and used in flower arrangements or sprayed and used for Christmas decorations.
