All the Eucalyptus we sell are hardy to most conditions in the UK. We buy in seed according to seed provenance to ensure the hardiest specimens.

Below is a selection of the most cold tolerant, down to around minus 10 to -15C. If you are looking for the very hardiest then look at: E. parvula, E. pauciflora & E. subcrenulata which can handle down to -20C.

A handsome tree with sweeping long leaves and light, airy growth. This tree originates from swamp areas and tolerates poorly drained soil.

A popular medium size tree with small rounded leaves. This is a very hardy, exposure tolerant tree which copes well with coppicing or trimming into a hedge.

This is a good all rounder species of Eucalyptus as it's shade tolerant, damp tolerant, will grow in tubs or containers and can also be used for hedging or coppiced.

A cultivar of the Cider Gum making an attractive ornamental tree, it differs from the regular Cider Gum by having much bluer leaves. The juvenile foliage can be used for fresh or dried flower arranging. A good hardy variety also for hedging, wind breaks, screening which will tolerate poor drainage. This must be one of our favourite varieties of Eucalyptus.

Also known as Eucalyptus parvifolia. A good variety for cold hardiness, wet, infertile soils and lime tolerance. It has smaller leaves than most Eucalyptus and unusual in that the crown retains many of the juvenile green leaves. Produces a profusion of white flowers in Summer.

Growth Habit: A small tree which tends to develop a large crown with semi -drooping branches. Dense foliage.

Unusual because the elliptical juvenile leaves are joined around the stem and when they die, they detach from the stem and can spin round it in a breeze - hence the name 'spinning gum'. This is also a cold hardy and exposure tolerant variety and can be cut back or coppiced to produce new juvenile growth. The juvenile growth can be used in fresh and dried flower arrangements.

Growth Habit: Tall and spreading crown, can be kept clipped as shrub for production of young leaves.

This is a small to medium tree which tolerates poor drainage. The clusters of flowering star formed buds can provide a fantastic display of white flowers.

This is a great all rounder tree with moderate growth rate, growing into a medium sized tree and keeping branches at ground level. Foliage often used in flower arrangements. It can be coppiced and will form a good, dense hedge or screen.
