A cultivar of the Cider Gum making an attractive ornamental tree, it differs from the regular Cider Gum by having much bluer leaves. Unusual because the elliptical juvenile leaves are joined around the stem and when they die, they detach from the stem and can spin round it in a breeze - hence the name 'spinning gum'. This is also a cold hardy and exposure tolerant variety and can be cut back or coppiced to produce new juvenile growth. The juvenile growth can be used in fresh and dried flower arrangements.
